The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was honored to contribute more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano.
“Last fall, I had the chance to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a vital part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would obtain her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to utilize the food they get to create nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also give resume help along with money-management and job classes to help families get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month.
“All the team members were so excited that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even took us around their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
